Beret-ed by Beret's

As I mentioned this new kitting addiction started with a gift of a knitted beret, which led me to finding patterns for a gorgeous beret. I thought about crocheting one, but I have always found 2 needles easier than 1 as they tend to fall off less frequently and I drop less stitches when I am knitting.
The hat that started it all!

So I started my hunt for a pattern found a bunch and have knitted a few, 2 turned out TINY, as in almost too small for a baby  to wear, the rest were  a pleasure to  knit and look gorgeous, and one of the tiny ones I  did re-knit and it  is  now perfect and ready for wrapping to give to a good friend of  mine.

Perfect!
I think when it comes to these they are nice to knit because of the fact that they are a quick knit, look gorgeous and can really add a statement to your winter wardrobe. I think my favourites are ones that are a bit lacy. When I started I thought I would want to cable knit them but cables are just make work projects, but lacy ones you do a yarn over and it takes up space all on its own. Genius.

So there you have it, my complete collection of knitted hats. I have missed 2 out, just because they did not quite turn out the way I anticipated they would, shame really, but it only means that I get to try the patterns again and hope for success.

If you are going to start knitting hats get some 16" circular needles, knitting hats, for me, on DPN's is not worth the aggravation, and when you switch to DPN's finish the project at the time you switch over, you can probably tell I am not into DPN's. I will use them when I need to but they are not worth it for me, I will never be a sock knitter.
